Spanish Motorcycles Market keeps momentum. In the first quarter 2024 data, up 4.0% at 48.080, is encouraging and the feared decline could not become real. Honda shines on top of the list.
Spanish Motorcycles Industry Trend and Perspectives
The Spanish continues to be the fifth largest “motorcycle” market in Europe (after Turkey, Italy, France and Germany) and is one of the fastest growing.
Sustained by a strong consumer’s demand, in 2023 sales increased 12.4% reaching 217.456, the highest level out of the last 15 years and the third growth in a row.
In 2024 the market is expected to slow down, as economic wind could be against. However, the first quarter data, up 4.0% at 48.080, is encouraging and the feared decline could not become real.
The growth is driven by the motorcycles segment (+8.4%) particularly strong in the 751-1000cc class (+16%). However, even the scooter segment is positive (+0.4%) although electric demand was weak (-33.3%) against all expectations.
Looking at top manufacturer’s performance, Honda was still on top with sales down 2.2%.
In second place Yamaha is fast growthing (+37.0%) pulled up by NMAX125 (+162%) and MT-07 (+102.5%).
In third place Kymco (+2.7%) is ahead of BMW (-7.3%), Piaggio (-29%), SYM (-3.7%), Kawasaki (+17.5%) and Zontes (14.4%).
